Day 22 of 35: Lisbon day 2

We got a slightly earlier start today & took an Uber to the Plaça Marquês de Pombal, a square dedicated to the Portuguese diplomat and statesman who was responsible for the reconstruction of Lisbon after the earthquake of 1755. From there we boarded one of the “Hop-on-hop-off” bus lines to get an overview of the city. We didn’t do any hopping but we enjoyed the tour.

Afterwards we ended up at the São Pedro lookout again, where we had delicious street food & once again soaked up the ambiance. I was particularly amused by the sign for public toilets. It saddened us on the walk back to the hotel, to see yet another abandoned property.

Tired by the day’s activities & by walking on even steeper hills than yesterday, we got Italian take- out for dinner. My sinuses started acting up so I visited a very helpful local pharmacy for meds.
